In some industries, you’ll want to dress more casually if the place you’re interviewing is a casual office. However, it’s not likely you’ll be in that situation in law school or at a law firm. You’ll be safe with a formal outfit.

You’ll hear mixed advice on whether you should wear pants or a dress. I’m a fan of a matching dress and blazer, simply because of the ease and because you won’t be tucking in a shirt, but be careful of the length.

If you feel most powerful in a color, rather than drab black or dark blue, choose a darker shade.
